For the third time since 2016, there will not be any salmon served at this year’s Salmon Festival. This comes after both the commercial and recreational salmon seasons were cancelled in April and May due to record low spawning numbers. “Those populations are at or near historical lows,” Environmental Program Manager at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife Brett Kormos said.
