New Bird Flu Cases Bring 2024 California Number to 6 and 20 Nationally
U.S. and California health officials confirmed two new cases of H5N1 bird flu in dairy farm workers in the state on Oct. 11. That makes the total of infected dairy workers in the state six, 20 nationally. The California Department of Public Health said it is working closely with local public health labs and departments to provide health checks for exposed individuals and ensure testing and treatment are available.
