California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife

CBS 13

A starving young black bear found at Northstar Resort in Lake Tahoe in April now has a new home. The bear, not even a year old, gained national attention after a video showed the animal fearlessly approaching a skier, possibly in search of food. State veterinarians noticed some concerning neurological abnormalities with the animal, so instead of returning him to the wild after restoring him to health, officials sent the to a wildlife center in San Diego County to live the rest of his life.
